At First Christian Church the purpose of “Celebrate Recovery” is to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives. Through the power of God’s Spirit we discover the pathway for healing and wholeness by practicing the 12 Steps (of AA) and 8 Recovery Principles (by Rick Warren) based on God’s Word. Through the power of God’s grace we become aware of God’s desire to help us receive the healing from our hurts, hang-ups and habits that God intends for our lives.
Through fellowship and our adult “Care and Share Groups” we share our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another and offer encouragement and support. As we develop a stronger personal relationship with God and others, we begin to grow spiritually and are able to better enjoy the joy, peace, and serenity that comes from a life lived in the freedom and strength of God’s love and grace. As we become free from our addictive, compulsive, destructive and dysfunctional behaviors, we are better able to embrace the love and forgiveness God offers us in Jesus Christ.
Celebrate Recovery at First Christian Church is held every Friday at 6:30 pm. First we gather to praise and worship God through song with our awesome Praise Band. We listen to a lesson or a personal testimony and then we share a meal together. At 7:30 pm, we break up into small groups for more in depth conversation and sharing. We offer Chemical Dependency and Codependency small groups. If you are struggling with hurts, hang-ups or addictive habits, you are not alone! Come join us and experience for yourself the amazing things God is doing in our lives and in our recovery. We hope to see you there soon!
Please note that our Celebrate Recovery Program is only equipped and staffed for adult recovery. We do not offer any of the children or youth Celebrate Recovery programs at this time and do not provide childcare. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
