In a few days, we will be hosting families for Family Promise for the third time since this ministry began in SE Florida last year. Following, is a letter I recently received from the staff at the Family Promise Day Center that I want to share with you:
“Dear Friends,
With the pending departure of both of our current Family Promise families, we are in the process of screening and evaluating new families for our program.
We are aware that many of our Host and Supporting congregations routinely help or support families that may be temporarily homeless.
As participants in the Family Promise network, you have a sense of the people with whom you would feel comfortable sharing fellowship and welcoming into your congregation’s “home”.
If you know of potential candidates for Family Promise, we welcome your referrals. Of course, we will interview and properly vet each candidate according to our program guidelines.
Please call the Family Promise office at 561-318-8864 if you would like to discuss a potential referral or have any questions about
making a referral to the program. All referrals will be kept in the strictest confidentiality and the referral source would not be accountable for any family’s acceptance or non-acceptance into the program. We also ask that you share this with your respective Rabbis, Priests or Pastors because they may be aware of situations where we could help.
As always, we recognize your investments of time, energy and love as a part of the Family Promise “family”.
